Week Two
Hello Families!
This week we really got to see all of the students little personalities! As many children in the class are starting to adjust to the new routine of school and feel more comfortable with their peers, they have truly come alive and are showing us what makes them so special. We also had many children start to ask questions about school and what activities we will be doing, which tells me we are right on track to keep adding structure to our normal routine. Which we will do by adding in small group time and centers!
Our friends on Tuesday got to experience their first substitute teacher, Mrs. G. I've been told it went very well, and that I have an exceptional class (which I completely agree with!)
Our friends on Wednesday got to go on an adventure to the High School to go to convocation! The vast majority were so excited to ride a bus and had fun with every bump and turn :) They also enjoyed the music and had fun dancing with each other!
In these next coming weeks we will start to introduce all of our centers in the room. Our centers are: Art, Blocks, Discovery, Pretend Play, Books, and Sensory. This week we will start with art center! Our classes will meet my puppet friends Obi-Wan the Otter and Sanka the Shark who will go on adventures and help us discover what each center is for, what tools we use there, and what is appropriate behavior for each place.
Upcoming Events:
Homecoming 2019 Family Event
We love seeing as many of you possible back here on campus for our annual Homecoming Event, this year on Friday, September 13. It’s an all-ages community event, from high school students, elementary and preschool kids, young parents and grandparents, all gathering together to share a meal together, enjoy each others’ company, and then cheering the football team on. Just like before, the picnic dinner and children’s activities, including bouncy houses, lawn games and crafts, start at 5 pm, then the varsity football game against Unity Christian begins at 7 pm. Can't get enough of the HC love? Tickets also include admission to the Varsity Volleyball game vs. Unity at 4:30. Preschool & kindergarten families, look for an email from our Preschool Director on how you can join us for free as our way to welcome you to the HC community!
*There is a sign-up sheet on my table outside of the door for you to sign up for free tickets for your immediate families!
Walk-A-Thon:
Each of your students will be going home with an envelope of information about this years Walk-A-Thon! I will include more information about it next week in my blog, which will hopefully answer any questions you may have!
It has once again been a joy spending time with each of your students! I hope that each of you enjoys a little extra family time this week with the holiday! I also hope you enjoy these snapshots from our week!
I can't wait to see all these faces again next week!
Blessings,
Allison
