Week 3
Hey Parents!
It was a short week, but a fun one! I hope you all
thoroughly enjoyed your long weekend!
This week we met our new friend Sanka, who welcomes our
friends to class and helps me teach the students about the color, shape,
number, and letters of the month at our morning circle time! We also met Obi
who adventures around our room and discovers new things that the students may
not have worked with before. This week
he discovered some paint and helped explain how to make prints! We all made our
own handprint-placemats for snack time!
Next week Obi is going to discover our Discovery center
(a.k.a. our math and science center!) We will start learning about how we use
our senses to discover and learn at school! We also will continue to solidify
our routines at school.
THINGS IMPORTANT FOR
YOU TO KNOW:
Walk-A-Thon
The Walk-A-Thon is our annual school fundraiser! There is
information about it in the envelope that was sent home with your students this
week. You may notice that it is held on Wednesday the 25th at the
High School in the afternoon. The only students that we will be taking there is
the Wednesday ENRICHMENT students! Preschool
students will have their own Walk-a-thon (complete with all the games and
popsicles that will be at the High School)! This will be held at Rose Park
during our class time! The dates are Monday,
September 23 and Thursday, September
26. Please make sure you send your children with walking friendly shoes
that day!
Schedule for Volunteering
This week I will have a sign-up sheet for classroom
volunteers! I would love it if each student had one parent/special
friend/grandparent who could come and volunteer in our class this semester. It
is super helpful for me to have extra hands, but more importantly, it’s also a
great opportunity for you to see what your child is doing every day at school!
Post Family Farms
Our Post Family Farms field trips are on September 30, and October 1! Please remember that this is a field trip that you will
attend with your child! We will all meet at Post Family Farms and spend the
morning together! This is great for building community in our classroom, and
just a whole lot of fun for the family! If you are not able to attend with your
child, please try and find a grandparent or special friend that can go with
them. If you have exhausted your list of people who can attend with your
student, please talk to me and we will arrange something J
Classroom Supply Gifts:
I am going to start putting sticky notes on my window with
supplies on them that we will be using in the next week or two. If you see one
and want to pick it up for us, or know that you have some lying around the
house and you’d be willing to donate it, it would be much appreciated! Just
grab the sticky note off the window and bring it back with the item attached. Please
do not feel obligated to give if you don’t feel led! This is just one of many
ways that you can bless our class!
Here are some snapshots from our week:
Thanks again for a great week!
Allison
