Week 9

Hello Families!

This week we talked about leaves and acorns! We learned that leaves have different shapes and that we can identify trees by the shape of their leaves. We also talked about texture and how acorns have a smooth texture and a bumpy texture.

Next week we will be starting to look at some fall/forest creatures (like squirrels, hedgehogs, bugs, spiders...)

At the beginning of October I brought in some pumpkins, golf tees, and hammers. The kids have been LOVING hammering golf tees into pumpkins! If your child is struggling with fine motor movements, this is an excellent way to help them!

A Little Head's Up:
Please hold on to your child's walk-a-thon shirts! We will use them again in the spring for our end of the year performance! These are the purple shirts that say Living Testimony :)
Thank you!

Words From Rose Park:
A Note from our Parent Team

A note from our amazingly supportive parent team. Parent/Teacher conferences are next week. If you would like to help sustain our teachers with part of a dinner during conferences, please navigate to the list using this link:

*Just a note, preschool does not participate in these conferences! We will have our conferences during the winter!

THANK YOU!

Job Posting
Want to work while your kiddos are at school, be home during all school breaks, and when your kids get off the bus? Come be a part of the Holland Christian Food Service team at Rose Park! We are looking for a lead kitchen team member to work during each school day, generally five days a week, from 8:30 am-2:00 pm. West Ottawa Swim Club
If you would like to familiarize yourself with a swim team oppourtunity for children, please find West Ottawa Swim Club information regarding the  West Ottawa Swim Club here.

Little Read
Rose Park is excited to participate in Hope College’s Little Read Lakeshore “Little Read” book this year. All students will be reading the book The Rooster Who Would Not Be Quiet by Carmen Agra Deedy. This simple, yet powerful picture book is written in both English and Spanish and provides wonderful discussion opportunities for our students.

There are a number of free events for families sponsored by the Little Read. See this link for a list of them: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1bKhklfF14S9jovwnAca7YeA33S08X_Mg3gHywsQIpTI/edit?usp=sharing

Here's our snapshots from the week!

Thanks for a fantastic week! I hope you all have restful weekends!

Blessings,
Allison
