Week 12

Hello Families!

During the week we talked about manners! Hopefully your students came home and used their manners more than usual :) We are now well versed in saying "please" and "thank you" as well as polite listening ears and polite hands!

Thank you to all the Father's who came out on Thursday! It was SO much fun seeing all of you and watching you have so much fun with your children :) Sorry I didn't catch everyone to get their photos!








This week we are talking about family! This includes who is in our family and where our family lives!


Things To Know:
SNOW CLOTHES
Just a reminder that tis the season for snow! We will be going outside as long as the temperature is above a real feel of 10 degrees. So please try to remember to pack snow pants, boots, coats, hats, and gloves!

INDOOR SHOES
Since we will be wearing boots when we go outside, it would be very appreciated if you could bring different shoes for your student to wear inside! This helps keeps our room dry :)

SCHOLASTIC and CHRISTMAS BOOK EXCHANGE
For our Christmas party this year we will be doing a book exchange! Just so you have enough time to plan and purchase, I will tell you now that you will need a gender-neutral book that is $5 or less! The Scholastic Flyer will be going home on Wednesday and Thursday, so if you would like you may order your book through that!

FRIENDSHIP SNACK
For our Thanksgiving party (November 26 and 27) we will be making Friendship Snack all together! I would love it if each student would bring in a small ziplock bag of their favorite snack food (gold fish, animal crackers, raisins....), which we will mix all together and share! As of right now, there will be no allergy restrictions on our snack! But we will have 2 new students starting either this Wednesday or on Monday, and I don't know if they have any allergies yet. I will let you all know as soon as I know!

NEW STUDENTS
We will have 2 new students in our Monday/Wednesday class! I have already told the class about them and we talked about being a good friend and including our new friends. I would really appreciate it if you could also reinforce that at home!

SNOW DAYS/DELAYS
Tis also the season for school closings. Just a reminder that if there is ever a 2 hour delay, preschool is cancelled and enrichment starts at 12:30! Also, you can sign up for text alerts from WoodTV8 about closings and delays. If you do this remember that you need to look for Holland Christian Schools! NOT Rose Park Gateway OR Rose Park Head Start.

 Hello Families!  We made it through our first week of school! We had SO much fun getting to know your students and teaching them some of our routines! In these next couple of weeks I am sure some of our friends will still feel some big emotions as they get used to the routine of coming to school. This is totally normal and we will keep giving lots of hugs and lots of encouragement!  Next week we will keep learning our school routines, and we will take our first field trip! On Wednesday we will get on a bus and head to the High School for our all School convocation.  Hello Families!  This week we had fun celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with Maestra Fernandez's class! Throughout the year we will take a few opportunities to learn from our Spanish Immersion friends about some Latino culture and traditions!  We also went to the library for the first time this week! We talked about how we will let the kids borrow a book this week, and then they can bring it back and get a new one! There is a blue bin on the little table outside of my classroom labeled "library books". You may put your library books in there at any time! There is a limit of 6 books out at one time. If you have 6 out at once I will print out a list of the books you have at your house and send it home with your student so you know which books you're looking for.  Next week we will see you at Post Family Farm on Monday!  Hello Families!  Time is flying! We had lots of fun this week doing some cool experiments like color mixing! We will continue to enjoy our last few days together as we have lots of fun at all our events coming up!  Monday (the 26th): OFF for Memorial Day !  Wednesday (the 28th): Normal Day of Class Thursday (the 29th): Preschool Park Playdate! We will be hopping on a bus at 9 and heading over to Windstrom Park! You are welcome to meet us there and hang out! We will head back to school around 10:15. I am still looking for someone to bring popsicles for our class! Let me know if you'd be willing to bring some for us, either in the morning at drop off or to the park!  Monday (the 2nd): Our Preschool Brunch!
