Week 22!
Hey Families!
We had a very fun we talking about some winter treats we enjoy :) We also enjoyed making snowflakes with marshmallows and pretzels as well as decorating our gingerbread men!
This coming week we will be starting to talk about love and hearts! Next week we will talk about valentines, and then for the rest of the month we will be talking about emotions and feelings.
Also, I know lots of you guys are leaving on vacations this month (I'm happy for you of course, but also jealous! :) If you could just remind me the class period before you leave, that would be very helpful!
VALENTINES PARTY
We will be having a Valentines celebration on February 12 and 13! This will consist of decorating bags and passing valentines out to each other! Please do not address who the valentines are to specifically. You may leave it blank or write to a friend :) If your student wants to write their name, feel free to let them! It's great practice!
If you will be gone on vacation over valentines day you can leave your valentines with me and I will make sure they get passed out and I will collect the ones your student receives and give them back once you return!
Supplies:
A few of you have asked if there are supplies the classroom needs! I do have a couple things I need, like a heart puncher, some large beads and a few other random things! If you would like to help out the class and purchase something, send me an email and I will send you a link for the kind of thing I am looking for :)
Progress Reports:
Progress reports will be coming home Monday and Tuesday! Look for them in your child's cubby in the morning or backpack!
From HC:
Look! A Book!
Do you have any picture books for children on your shelves at home that are waiting to be enjoyed once again by eager readers? Any books that your family has outgrown over the years? Certainly many books grow to become family treasures to be saved for the next generation. However, our kindergarteners are wondering if you have any books on your shelves at home that you might not mind contributing to their brand new, community-oriented reading program called "Look! A Book!" On the last week of school, all kindergarteners from Holland Christian will board buses together and travel throughout our city hiding books carefully tucked into zip lock gallon bags throughout our city parks and play areas. A congratulatory note will be tucked in the bag celebrating the new book with the finder with instructions to read and enjoy the book. The eager new readers next step will be to hide the bagged book, once enjoyed, in a new location for the next reader. The note will be signed off with a salutation: "Happy Reading, HC Kindergarten Readers". If you can find a book or two to contribute, please send the books to our kindergarten classes. Rest assured, they will be put to good use, we hope, by many families in Holland over the summer months.
