Week 24

Hello Families!
We had a very fun week celebrating Valentine's Day! Hopefully your kids didn't eat all their candy in one sitting :)

Next week we will start talking about emotions and feelings! We are going to start with what the students know, and then expand on their knowledge. We will talk about emotions next week and the week after. On February 26 and 27, we will be having another pajama day and we will be watching parts of Inside Out! I will tell the students about it next week!

No School Monday!
Don't forget that we don't have school on Monday! I will see my Monday/Wednesday friends on Wednesday next week :)

Enrichment Snow Clothes
Enrichment parents, please remember to bring snow clothes every time your child is in enrichment! We try to make it outside everyday for enrichment so please remember warm clothes :)

How to be a Living Testimony in February
This month students at Rose Park are participating in a shoe drive through an organization called Soles 4 Souls. They collect shoes then redistribute the shoes in places of greatest need such as refugee camps and places of disaster. Did you know shoes can help kids go to school, prevent disease, and provide jobs? Please watch this short video with your child and help find a pair of shoes to donate this month.

 Hello Families!  This week we had fun celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with Maestra Fernandez's class! Throughout the year we will take a few opportunities to learn from our Spanish Immersion friends about some Latino culture and traditions!  We also went to the library for the first time this week! We talked about how we will let the kids borrow a book this week, and then they can bring it back and get a new one! There is a blue bin on the little table outside of my classroom labeled "library books". You may put your library books in there at any time! There is a limit of 6 books out at one time. If you have 6 out at once I will print out a list of the books you have at your house and send it home with your student so you know which books you're looking for.  Next week we will see you at Post Family Farm on Monday!  Hello Families!  Time is flying! We had lots of fun this week doing some cool experiments like color mixing! We will continue to enjoy our last few days together as we have lots of fun at all our events coming up!  Monday (the 26th): OFF for Memorial Day !  Wednesday (the 28th): Normal Day of Class Thursday (the 29th): Preschool Park Playdate! We will be hopping on a bus at 9 and heading over to Windstrom Park! You are welcome to meet us there and hang out! We will head back to school around 10:15. I am still looking for someone to bring popsicles for our class! Let me know if you'd be willing to bring some for us, either in the morning at drop off or to the park!  Monday (the 2nd): Our Preschool Brunch! Please bring any items you signed up for in the morning at drop off time so we can set up! You are more than welcome to come and join us in our celebration from 10:15-11:15.  Hello Families!  This week we talked about some spring-time things and made the best of our rainy day by reading Cloudy With A Chance of Meatball and talking about what foods we want it to rain!  Next week we will be talking about Tulip Time and some Dutch things like windmills and wooden shoes!  From Rose Park: Library Books:   This week was the last week for students to borrow books from the Rose Park Library.  All student library materials are due by May 9. I sent home a list of all the books that your student has checked out so you can look for them over the weekend! If you need me to reprint your list, let me know! Plant Sale: The annual fourth grade plant sale is coming to Rose Park on May 21 starting at 7:30am.  They will be selling tomatoes, peppers, and a variety of herbs.  All plants will be $3.00 per pot, cash or check only.  Mark your calendars!
