Week 27

Hello Families!

 This week we looked at what we know and what we want to know about animals! We will start investigating all of the questions we asked starting with aquatic animals! We will start with fresh water animals, then work our way towards salt water animals. We're all excited to get started! 
Champion Gymnastics:
 Field Trip- We will be going to Champion Gymnastics on March 16 and 17. We will meet at Champion Gymnastics at 9:30 and end the day there at 11:00. Parents/Grandparents may stay and watch or come back later to pick up their child. Adults may join the activities in the gym area but if there are younger siblings, then everyone will need to stay in the waiting area. We will have a snack at the end and then the kids will be able to go home. If your child has Enrichment in the afternoon, you will need to bring them back to school by 11:30 (for lunch) or 12:30 (if not eating lunch at school). If you have any questions or concerns, let me know.

We are offering an optional reading incentive to all students: Keep track of your usual March reading minutes on the WhiteCaps form (coming home Friday). Submit the voucher per instructions on the form for two free tickets to a WhiteCaps game!

 Hello Families!  This week we had fun celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with Maestra Fernandez's class! Throughout the year we will take a few opportunities to learn from our Spanish Immersion friends about some Latino culture and traditions!  We also went to the library for the first time this week! We talked about how we will let the kids borrow a book this week, and then they can bring it back and get a new one! There is a blue bin on the little table outside of my classroom labeled "library books". You may put your library books in there at any time! There is a limit of 6 books out at one time. If you have 6 out at once I will print out a list of the books you have at your house and send it home with your student so you know which books you're looking for.  Next week we will see you at Post Family Farm on Monday!  Hello Families!  Time is flying! We had lots of fun this week doing some cool experiments like color mixing! We will continue to enjoy our last few days together as we have lots of fun at all our events coming up!  Monday (the 26th): OFF for Memorial Day !  Wednesday (the 28th): Normal Day of Class Thursday (the 29th): Preschool Park Playdate! We will be hopping on a bus at 9 and heading over to Windstrom Park! You are welcome to meet us there and hang out! We will head back to school around 10:15. I am still looking for someone to bring popsicles for our class! Let me know if you'd be willing to bring some for us, either in the morning at drop off or to the park!  Monday (the 2nd): Our Preschool Brunch!  Hello Families!  This week we talked about some spring-time things and made the best of our rainy day by reading Cloudy With A Chance of Meatball and talking about what foods we want it to rain!  Next week we will be talking about Tulip Time and some Dutch things like windmills and wooden shoes!  From Rose Park: Library Books:   This week was the last week for students to borrow books from the Rose Park Library.  All student library materials are due by May 9. I sent home a list of all the books that your student has checked out so you can look for them over the weekend! If you need me to reprint your list, let me know! Plant Sale: The annual fourth grade plant sale is coming to Rose Park on May 21 starting at 7:30am.  They will be selling tomatoes, peppers, and a variety of herbs.  All plants will be $3.00 per pot, cash or check only.  Mark your calendars!
