Week 8

 Happy Weekend!

This week we tried lot's of new things, like white boards and water color paints! The students have been loving all the new activities and learning how to use them appropriately! They also loved trying to be good friends to each other this week :) I saw lot's of friends really try to make their fellow classmates feel happier through playing together, kind words, sharing toys, and some hugs!

This coming week we will start talking about fall! We will look at leaves changing colors and try to appreciate how pretty God made our world! We will be spending more time than usual outside this week, so please dress your students accordingly if it's supposed to be cold!

Things to Know:

Play Dough: We LOVE play dough in our class! This means that we use it frequently. This also means that we go through it quickly. I would love it if each family could donate play dough to our classroom! It can be homemade or store bought, whichever you prefer! If you choose to but it, please buy at least 4 containers. If it's possible, please sign up for one slot on our signup genius. This way we have play dough throughout the whole year! If you do not have the time or resources to signup, I totally understand!

Friends Book: I put a "friends" book in each student's folder/backpack! Please go through it with your student so you can hear about all the friends they have in class :)

Water Bottles: A very kind donor, donated water bottle for everyone in our building! Your students water bottle went home with them Wednesday/Thursday! If you chose to have your student bring it back to use at school, please make sure their name is on it! There are lot's of that exact water bottle floating around Rose Park :)

CEA Break: This week is a short week! There is no school Thursday! Please enjoy your long weekend :) For my Monday/Wednesday friends: Just a heads up that I will not be at school Monday, the 26th. We have a wedding in Atlanta on Sunday the 25th and we just can't make it home in time. I will tell the kids on Wednesday that someone new will be at school, but your student's may need reassuring from you that I will come back and that I'm only gone 1 day :)

A Note for Mrs. Rynsburger:

Rose Park Families,

An area of focus for this school year is reflecting on and perhaps improving our process for communicating behavior expectations to students throughout our school community. Our desire is to always come alongside parents, teachers, and students to help our children grow into people of God. One of the central components of this initiative focuses on working to recognize and acknowledge positive student behavior. We have a team of teachers from across grade levels creating a school-wide system for teaching and addressing behavior in our students.

At this point, we would love to have your input about the overall "climate" of our school community. The survey should take 5-10 minutes to complete. Please share freely as responses are confidential.

Thank you for your input as we work to build and reinforce positive social skills and behaviors in students.

It’s a joy to partner with you,

Miska Rynsburger
