Weeks 5&6

 Hello Families!

I am so sorry that last week I didn't send out a blog! I was having technical difficulties, but everything is up and working now!

We had the Walk-a-Thon last week and we have been working very hard on our Grandparents Day! We also have been talking about rules and good choices at school! We will continue to talk about our rules and being a good friend with our choices this week! 

On Wednesday we also had a special visit from a miniature horse! The horses name was Gypsy and everyone got to pet her! On Tuesday she will be back for my T/TH kids to see!



Things to Know:

- Lunches: Holland Christian is now able to offer free school lunch to all our preschoolers! There is an email you should have received today that explains it. If you just stay for a 1/2 day lunches will be ready at 11:15 and I will hand your students a lunch as they walk out to you! For my enrichment students, you can sign up online or you can continue to let me know and I will mark them down for you! 

- Grandparents Day: On Monday/Tuesday this week I will send home our "present" for all our grandparents in large envelopes :) I will send home 2 packets with each student unless you have already told me that your student needs a third set. If you could either mail these envelopes or get them to their grandparents that would be amazing! Then on October 8, I will email you all a video of our students for their grandparents to watch! We are so sad that we can't all meet in person, but the students are very excited about the video we are sending! 

- Library: We went to the library this week! Look in your students backpack for their book! We will be going to the library every Wednesday and Thursdays. Books may be checked out for 2 weeks. If it is easier for you to send the books back every week, thats perfectly fine! Just put books that need to be returned in your students backpack and I will have a bin for them to put them in!

 Hello Families!  We made it through our first week of school! We had SO much fun getting to know your students and teaching them some of our routines! In these next couple of weeks I am sure some of our friends will still feel some big emotions as they get used to the routine of coming to school. This is totally normal and we will keep giving lots of hugs and lots of encouragement!  Next week we will keep learning our school routines, and we will take our first field trip! On Wednesday we will get on a bus and head to the High School for our all School convocation.  Hello Families!  This week we had fun celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with Maestra Fernandez's class! Throughout the year we will take a few opportunities to learn from our Spanish Immersion friends about some Latino culture and traditions!  We also went to the library for the first time this week! We talked about how we will let the kids borrow a book this week, and then they can bring it back and get a new one! There is a blue bin on the little table outside of my classroom labeled "library books". You may put your library books in there at any time! There is a limit of 6 books out at one time. If you have 6 out at once I will print out a list of the books you have at your house and send it home with your student so you know which books you're looking for.  Next week we will see you at Post Family Farm on Monday!  Hello Families!  Time is flying! We had lots of fun this week doing some cool experiments like color mixing! We will continue to enjoy our last few days together as we have lots of fun at all our events coming up!  Monday (the 26th): OFF for Memorial Day !  Wednesday (the 28th): Normal Day of Class Thursday (the 29th): Preschool Park Playdate! We will be hopping on a bus at 9 and heading over to Windstrom Park! You are welcome to meet us there and hang out! We will head back to school around 10:15. I am still looking for someone to bring popsicles for our class! Let me know if you'd be willing to bring some for us, either in the morning at drop off or to the park!  Monday (the 2nd): Our Preschool Brunch!
