Week 11

Hello Families!

Another week is in the books! This week we talked more about leaves and also spent quite a bit of time on learning shapes! If you need something to occupy your child sometime this weekend, tell them to go on a shape hunt and look for circles and triangles!

We also started talking about Thanksgiving, and what being thankful means! We will continue talking about that until Thanksgiving break!

Things to Know:

Father's Night: This week we will be sending out a video with some instructions for a virtual Father's Night! Usually we do Father's Night at school, but due to COVID we are changing it to a virtual one! We really love this event and watching dad's have fun with their students :) Watch out for an email Monday with more information!

Extra Clothes: Now that it's getting colder (except for this weekend) please switch out your students summer/fall spare clothes, for some winter ones! I will put any bags of clothes that are in students lockers into their backpacks for you to check and change out.

November 25: Hopefully you all got the newsletter from Holland Christian that told you that November 25 will no longer be a half day off. Now it is a full day off!

Snacks:

Here is the our snack schedule! It is the same every week:

Monday: Yogurt and Animal Crackers

Tuesday: Graham Crackers and Raisins

Wednesday: Carrots and Goldfish

Thursday: Cheese Stick and Crackers.

Enrichment Blurbs:

Here is a little peek into what our enrichment afternoons look like!

Monday Enrichment: We continued talking about popular places in Holland. This week was Captain Sundae! We painted ice cream cones with a shaving cream mixture.

Tuesday Enrichment: We are continuing to talk about shapes. This week we will talk about circles and ovals by comparing and contrasting them and going on a shape hunt!

Wednesday Enrichment: We worked on our counting and rhyming, while using our gross motor skills. We played various gross motor bean bag games while counting with rhyme “Bubble Gum, Bubble Gum in a dish.”

Thursday Enrichment: It was our little explorer day and explored Pigeon creek park and talked about “who lives in a tree.”
