Week 12

 Hello Families!

We are continuing to talk about being thankful and what we are thankful for! We have been adding "thankful feathers" to our thanksgiving turkey! 



This week we will talk about thanksgiving and how we celebrate it. I know this year's thanksgiving may look a little different than normal, but we are going to talk about how it looks most years. 


Things to Know:

Father's Night: Thank you to those who have participated!! It looks like you all had fun spending time with your sweet kids during the past week :) If you haven't sent me your pictures yet, please do! If you haven't completed Father's Night and you would still like to, please do!! 

Snow Clothes: Winter is on its way! Please remember to dress your student for the temperature outside! We go outside everyday unless the real feel outside is less than 10 degrees. If you have snow clothes for your student, please start helping them practice getting all of it on! That is hugely helpful since there are 10 of them and 1 of me :) 

Next Week: Remember next week Wednesday (the 25th) we are off of school! Enjoy a little longer break!

 Hello Families!  This week we had fun celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with Maestra Fernandez's class! Throughout the year we will take a few opportunities to learn from our Spanish Immersion friends about some Latino culture and traditions!  We also went to the library for the first time this week! We talked about how we will let the kids borrow a book this week, and then they can bring it back and get a new one! There is a blue bin on the little table outside of my classroom labeled "library books". You may put your library books in there at any time! There is a limit of 6 books out at one time. If you have 6 out at once I will print out a list of the books you have at your house and send it home with your student so you know which books you're looking for.  Next week we will see you at Post Family Farm on Monday!  Hello Families!  Time is flying! We had lots of fun this week doing some cool experiments like color mixing! We will continue to enjoy our last few days together as we have lots of fun at all our events coming up!  Monday (the 26th): OFF for Memorial Day !  Wednesday (the 28th): Normal Day of Class Thursday (the 29th): Preschool Park Playdate! We will be hopping on a bus at 9 and heading over to Windstrom Park! You are welcome to meet us there and hang out! We will head back to school around 10:15. I am still looking for someone to bring popsicles for our class! Let me know if you'd be willing to bring some for us, either in the morning at drop off or to the park!  Monday (the 2nd): Our Preschool Brunch! Please bring any items you signed up for in the morning at drop off time so we can set up! You are more than welcome to come and join us in our celebration from 10:15-11:15.  Hello Families!  This week we talked about some spring-time things and made the best of our rainy day by reading Cloudy With A Chance of Meatball and talking about what foods we want it to rain!  Next week we will be talking about Tulip Time and some Dutch things like windmills and wooden shoes!  From Rose Park: Library Books:   This week was the last week for students to borrow books from the Rose Park Library.  All student library materials are due by May 9. I sent home a list of all the books that your student has checked out so you can look for them over the weekend! If you need me to reprint your list, let me know! Plant Sale: The annual fourth grade plant sale is coming to Rose Park on May 21 starting at 7:30am.  They will be selling tomatoes, peppers, and a variety of herbs.  All plants will be $3.00 per pot, cash or check only.  Mark your calendars!
