Week 13 and 14

Hello Families!

Happy Thanksgiving! We have been talking about what it means to be thankful and why we should be thankful for things! We made our turkey placemats to remind us what kinds of things we can be thankful for :) I hope you have time to sit down with your student sometime this holiday weekend and talk about what you are thankful for as well!

When we come back to school next week we will be talking about Christmas! Our main focus in December will be talking about the birth of Jesus and each person who played a special role in the story of his birth. We also will be talking about what Christmas looks like around the world! This is something that Rose Park is doing as a whole. Our class will be specifically talking about the Netherlands and Sinterklaas. The main goal of this study is to tell the kids that Jesus came for all the kids in the world!

Important Things to Know:

Gifts: In your students backpacks are 2 bags. One has a pumpkin they painted (if they were here that day) and also contains two masks. Someone donated these masks to every person in the Holland Christian school system! We are grateful for their generosity! If you are going to have your child wear these masks to school, please put their name in them! We have no other way of telling them a part and there are many floating around our school :) The second bag is a gift from Father's Night! Make sure you look for them in your child's backpack!

Library Books: Over the weekend, please check and look for any library books you have! If your student has more than four books out, I can't let them bring anymore home. Please take a look and bring them back!

Drop-Off: This week we are going to try to have the kids walk all the way to my classroom to start the day! We have been practicing with each student to make sure they know exactly where to go! If you remember on Monday, please remind them to go all the way to my class! And don't worry, I will still be coming out and staying in the hall keeping an eye out for each of your students to make sure they come to the right place!
