Names and Snow

 Hello Families!

This week we worked very hard on our names! We are working on naming the letters in our names as well as the sounds that each letter makes. If you have time this weekend, feel free to continue working on it with your student! 

On Monday we will begin our next study! We will begin the ball study with creative curriculum. If you have a ball at home and your student wants to bring it in, we would love to have it in class on Monday/Tuesday! This can be anything from a golf ball, to a tennis ball, to a bowling ball, to a ball of yarn! 


Things to Know: 

Vacations: If you are heading out on vacation, please just let let me know via email so I know what days to expect your student to be gone! 

Progress Reports: Progress Reports will be going home Monday/Tuesday this week! Make sure you check your students backpack for them! 

Valentines Day Parties: Our Valentines party will be Monday, February14th and Tuesday the 15th! We will be exchanging valentines as a class. This can be store bought, or homemade (even a simple piece of paper your student has colored on for each student). They do not have to be individually labeled!

Our First Week!

 Hello Families!  We made it through our first week of school! We had SO much fun getting to know your students and teaching them some of our routines! In these next couple of weeks I am sure some of our friends will still feel some big emotions as they get used to the routine of coming to school. This is totally normal and we will keep giving lots of hugs and lots of encouragement!  Next week we will keep learning our school routines, and we will take our first field trip! On Wednesday we will get on a bus and head to the High School for our all School convocation. If possible, please drop your child off by 8:20 so we can get to the bus on time.  Things To Know:  Walk-a-thon T-shirt: There is a QR code outside of my room to sign up your student for a walk-a-thon t shirt.  Hello Families!  This week we had fun celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with Maestra Fernandez's class! Throughout the year we will take a few opportunities to learn from our Spanish Immersion friends about some Latino culture and traditions!  We also went to the library for the first time this week! We talked about how we will let the kids borrow a book this week, and then they can bring it back and get a new one! There is a blue bin on the little table outside of my classroom labeled "library books". You may put your library books in there at any time! There is a limit of 6 books out at one time. If you have 6 out at once I will print out a list of the books you have at your house and send it home with your student so you know which books you're looking for.  Next week we will see you at Post Family Farm on Monday!  Hello Families!  Time is flying! We had lots of fun this week doing some cool experiments like color mixing! We will continue to enjoy our last few days together as we have lots of fun at all our events coming up!  Monday (the 26th): OFF for Memorial Day !  Wednesday (the 28th): Normal Day of Class Thursday (the 29th): Preschool Park Playdate! We will be hopping on a bus at 9 and heading over to Windstrom Park! You are welcome to meet us there and hang out! We will head back to school around 10:15. I am still looking for someone to bring popsicles for our class! Let me know if you'd be willing to bring some for us, either in the morning at drop off or to the park!  Monday (the 2nd): Our Preschool Brunch!
