Back from Spring Break!

 Hello Families!

We are back! We are all adjusting back to our routines and are ready to finish our year off well! We learned about Easter this week. Next week we will start to talk about plants, and also have Grandparents/Grand Friends Day! 


Things to Know:

Grand Parents Day:

This coming Thursday (April 21) is Grandparents Day! Grandparents are welcome to come to school at 10:30 (through Door D) and spend time in our classroom doing activities, have a snack together and go outside (assuming the weather is nice!)

In order to have a snack with our grandparents, we would appreciate some help! If you are able, please sign up to bring something!

For my Monday/Wednesday friends: If your grandparents are able to bring you to school, you are more than welcome to join us! Just come in the doors at 10:30, come to our classroom and join in the fun! 


Program:

Hopefully you have seen the emails from Holland Christian about our Spring Program! It will also be on April 21, at 7pm at Central Wesleyan Church. Please arrive by 6:50. There will be preschool staff members directing your family to a specific preschool section. The students will sit with you until they are called on stage to sing their songs. Once they are done we will help them find you again.

 Hello Families!  This week we had fun celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with Maestra Fernandez's class! Throughout the year we will take a few opportunities to learn from our Spanish Immersion friends about some Latino culture and traditions!  We also went to the library for the first time this week! We talked about how we will let the kids borrow a book this week, and then they can bring it back and get a new one! There is a blue bin on the little table outside of my classroom labeled "library books". You may put your library books in there at any time! There is a limit of 6 books out at one time. If you have 6 out at once I will print out a list of the books you have at your house and send it home with your student so you know which books you're looking for.  Next week we will see you at Post Family Farm on Monday!  Hello Families!  Time is flying! We had lots of fun this week doing some cool experiments like color mixing! We will continue to enjoy our last few days together as we have lots of fun at all our events coming up!  Monday (the 26th): OFF for Memorial Day !  Wednesday (the 28th): Normal Day of Class Thursday (the 29th): Preschool Park Playdate! We will be hopping on a bus at 9 and heading over to Windstrom Park! You are welcome to meet us there and hang out! We will head back to school around 10:15. I am still looking for someone to bring popsicles for our class! Let me know if you'd be willing to bring some for us, either in the morning at drop off or to the park!  Monday (the 2nd): Our Preschool Brunch!  Hello Families!  This week we talked about some spring-time things and made the best of our rainy day by reading Cloudy With A Chance of Meatball and talking about what foods we want it to rain!  Next week we will be talking about Tulip Time and some Dutch things like windmills and wooden shoes!  From Rose Park: Library Books:   This week was the last week for students to borrow books from the Rose Park Library.  All student library materials are due by May 9. I sent home a list of all the books that your student has checked out so you can look for them over the weekend! If you need me to reprint your list, let me know! Plant Sale: The annual fourth grade plant sale is coming to Rose Park on May 21 starting at 7:30am.  They will be selling tomatoes, peppers, and a variety of herbs.  All plants will be $3.00 per pot, cash or check only.  Mark your calendars!
