Week 14 & 15

 Hello Families! 

We had so much fun talking about Christmas this week! We are going to look at 5 main characters in the Christmas story in the weeks leading up to Christmas! This week we talked about how Christmas is God's gift to us, and we talked about Mary. 

Next week we will talk about Joseph and the Shepards. 

You may have also heard your students talk about a baby in Mrs. DeLange's belly. This is true :) I am due at the very end of May, so there is a very good chance that I will be finishing the school year with everyone! As we approach the end of the year I will let you know what plans we have in place in case baby comes early! 



Things to Know: 

Las Posadas Party: We will be celebrating Las Posadas with our Spanish Immersion friends on Tuesday, December 13 from 10-11. There will a pinata and some authentic snacks, as well as a little time for MAestra Rodriguez to tell us about what Las Posadas is and how people in Mexico celebrate it! 

Class Christmas Parties: Our class Christmas parties will be on December 14&15!

Christmas Break: Christmas Break will be from December 19-January 2. Our first day back will be January 3!

Our First Week!

 Hello Families!  We made it through our first week of school! We had SO much fun getting to know your students and teaching them some of our routines! In these next couple of weeks I am sure some of our friends will still feel some big emotions as they get used to the routine of coming to school. This is totally normal and we will keep giving lots of hugs and lots of encouragement!  Next week we will keep learning our school routines, and we will take our first field trip! On Wednesday we will get on a bus and head to the High School for our all School convocation. If possible, please drop your child off by 8:20 so we can get to the bus on time.  Things To Know:  Walk-a-thon T-shirt: There is a QR code outside of my room to sign up your student for a walk-a-thon t shirt.  Hello Families!  This week we had fun celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with Maestra Fernandez's class! Throughout the year we will take a few opportunities to learn from our Spanish Immersion friends about some Latino culture and traditions!  We also went to the library for the first time this week! We talked about how we will let the kids borrow a book this week, and then they can bring it back and get a new one! There is a blue bin on the little table outside of my classroom labeled "library books". You may put your library books in there at any time! There is a limit of 6 books out at one time. If you have 6 out at once I will print out a list of the books you have at your house and send it home with your student so you know which books you're looking for.  Next week we will see you at Post Family Farm on Monday!  Hello Families!  Time is flying! We had lots of fun this week doing some cool experiments like color mixing! We will continue to enjoy our last few days together as we have lots of fun at all our events coming up!  Monday (the 26th): OFF for Memorial Day !  Wednesday (the 28th): Normal Day of Class Thursday (the 29th): Preschool Park Playdate! We will be hopping on a bus at 9 and heading over to Windstrom Park! You are welcome to meet us there and hang out! We will head back to school around 10:15. I am still looking for someone to bring popsicles for our class! Let me know if you'd be willing to bring some for us, either in the morning at drop off or to the park!  Monday (the 2nd): Our Preschool Brunch!
