Our First Week!

Hello Parents!

We did it! We have finished our first official week of school!  We have had so much fun getting to know each other already! We are working on learning each other's name and our routine. This will be our main focus next week as well! 

I am guessing your students are going to be a little extra tired over the weekend. Preschool is new and it's a big day for all of us! I hope you are able to give your kids a little extra rest if they need it! 


Announcements: 

Convocation: Next week Wednesday (the 30th) we have convocation! We will be getting on a bus in the morning and heading over to the High School to have our beginning of the year all-school convocation! You are invited to meet us there and watch if you would like! 

T-Shirt Sizes: The Parent Board needs your students t-shirt size (in youth sizes) by Monday! Please email me what size you would like us to order your student! 

Homecoming: 

HC’s Homecoming Event is coming soon!

Friday, September 15th from 5-6:30 pm

Kickoff is 7:00 pm

Our Homecoming event includes dinner, bounce houses and inflatables.

 

**All preschool and kindergarten families are invited to attend for FREE through the RSVP form.**  RSVP HERE (Accepting RSVPs until September 6th.) 


Families with children in 1st-12th grade can purchase Homecoming tickets through our Athletics link - EVENTLINK - tickets include the meal, activities, and Varsity Football game at 7:00 pm. Take advantage of the Early Bird Ticket pricing $8 per ticket. Price increases to $10 per ticket starting Monday, September 11th.

 Hello Families!  This week we had fun celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with Maestra Fernandez's class! Throughout the year we will take a few opportunities to learn from our Spanish Immersion friends about some Latino culture and traditions!  We also went to the library for the first time this week! We talked about how we will let the kids borrow a book this week, and then they can bring it back and get a new one! There is a blue bin on the little table outside of my classroom labeled "library books". You may put your library books in there at any time! There is a limit of 6 books out at one time. If you have 6 out at once I will print out a list of the books you have at your house and send it home with your student so you know which books you're looking for.  Next week we will see you at Post Family Farm on Monday!  Hello Families!  Time is flying! We had lots of fun this week doing some cool experiments like color mixing! We will continue to enjoy our last few days together as we have lots of fun at all our events coming up!  Monday (the 26th): OFF for Memorial Day !  Wednesday (the 28th): Normal Day of Class Thursday (the 29th): Preschool Park Playdate! We will be hopping on a bus at 9 and heading over to Windstrom Park! You are welcome to meet us there and hang out! We will head back to school around 10:15. I am still looking for someone to bring popsicles for our class! Let me know if you'd be willing to bring some for us, either in the morning at drop off or to the park!  Monday (the 2nd): Our Preschool Brunch!  Hello Families!  This week we talked about some spring-time things and made the best of our rainy day by reading Cloudy With A Chance of Meatball and talking about what foods we want it to rain!  Next week we will be talking about Tulip Time and some Dutch things like windmills and wooden shoes!  From Rose Park: Library Books:   This week was the last week for students to borrow books from the Rose Park Library.  All student library materials are due by May 9. I sent home a list of all the books that your student has checked out so you can look for them over the weekend! If you need me to reprint your list, let me know! Plant Sale: The annual fourth grade plant sale is coming to Rose Park on May 21 starting at 7:30am.  They will be selling tomatoes, peppers, and a variety of herbs.  All plants will be $3.00 per pot, cash or check only.  Mark your calendars!
