Week 2

 Hello Families!

We made it through our first full week and our first field trip! We had a wonderful time with some 8th grade buddies at convocation! We are starting to get into our school rhythms throughout our day and your students are doing so well! We are so proud of them! :) 


Announcements:

Post Family Farms: Our Post Family Farms filed trip is September 25 at 9:15. This is a field trip where an adult needs to accompany your child for the morning! In a week I will send home a permission slip as well as a form for you to fill out and tell me who will be accompanying your child! 

Full Day Friends: Starting next week we can have absolutely no peanuts or peanut butter in our lunches or snacks due to an airborne allergy of someone starting in the afternoons. Also, look for updates on the afternoon pickup process in the next couple weeks! I know the parking lot is crazy at dismissal time and we are working on finding a smoother solution!  


Announcements from Rose Park:

You Are Invited! Chapel is every Thursday morning from 8:30-9:00 in the small gym of Rose Park. Our preschool through fifth grade students worship together, spend time in prayer and deepen our faith walk. Feel free to join us if you’re able! 

HC’s Homecoming Event is coming soon! 

    • Friday, September 15th from 5-6:30 pm Kickoff is 7:00 pm

Our Homecoming event includes dinner, bounce houses and inflatables.

  •  **All preschool and kindergarten families are invited to attend for FREE through the RSVP form.**  RSVP HERE (Accepting RSVPs until September 6th.) 

  • Families with children in 1st-12th grade can purchase Homecoming tickets through our Athletics link - EVENTLINK - tickets include the meal, activities, and Varsity Football game at 7:00 pm. Take advantage of the Early Bird Ticket pricing $8 per ticket. Price increases to $10 per ticket starting Monday, September 11th.

Picture Day- For those of you really planning ahead, Rose Park’s picture day is September 13th. Once order forms have been sent home with students. If you are ordering a yearbook this will be the time to do that also.

Grandparents Day -- Please pass along our invitation to your special Grandparents/friends! We'd love to pull out all of the stops and welcome them to our beautiful space at Rose Park. Thursday, October 5 in three different celebrations we will give thanks to God for surrounding us with the support and care of loved ones. Please note the timeframes for each level!

 Hello Families!  This week we had fun celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with Maestra Fernandez's class! Throughout the year we will take a few opportunities to learn from our Spanish Immersion friends about some Latino culture and traditions!  We also went to the library for the first time this week! We talked about how we will let the kids borrow a book this week, and then they can bring it back and get a new one! There is a blue bin on the little table outside of my classroom labeled "library books". You may put your library books in there at any time! There is a limit of 6 books out at one time. If you have 6 out at once I will print out a list of the books you have at your house and send it home with your student so you know which books you're looking for.  Next week we will see you at Post Family Farm on Monday!  Hello Families!  Time is flying! We had lots of fun this week doing some cool experiments like color mixing! We will continue to enjoy our last few days together as we have lots of fun at all our events coming up!  Monday (the 26th): OFF for Memorial Day !  Wednesday (the 28th): Normal Day of Class Thursday (the 29th): Preschool Park Playdate! We will be hopping on a bus at 9 and heading over to Windstrom Park! You are welcome to meet us there and hang out! We will head back to school around 10:15. I am still looking for someone to bring popsicles for our class! Let me know if you'd be willing to bring some for us, either in the morning at drop off or to the park!  Monday (the 2nd): Our Preschool Brunch! Please bring any items you signed up for in the morning at drop off time so we can set up! You are more than welcome to come and join us in our celebration from 10:15-11:15.  Hello Families!  This week we talked about some spring-time things and made the best of our rainy day by reading Cloudy With A Chance of Meatball and talking about what foods we want it to rain!  Next week we will be talking about Tulip Time and some Dutch things like windmills and wooden shoes!  From Rose Park: Library Books:   This week was the last week for students to borrow books from the Rose Park Library.  All student library materials are due by May 9. I sent home a list of all the books that your student has checked out so you can look for them over the weekend! If you need me to reprint your list, let me know! Plant Sale: The annual fourth grade plant sale is coming to Rose Park on May 21 starting at 7:30am.  They will be selling tomatoes, peppers, and a variety of herbs.  All plants will be $3.00 per pot, cash or check only.  Mark your calendars!
