Week 5

 Hello Families!

We had a wonderful week learning about circles, the color red, and the number 1! We also got to explore our outdoor naturescape for the first time! 

We are looking forward to our field trip on Monday! Next week we will also meet with our buddy class (Mrs. Diekema 3rd grade class). It's going to be busy, but so fun! 


Announcements:

Post Family Farms on MONDAY! We will all be meeting at Post Family Farms at 9am Monday morning! You are going to drive your student there, arriving between 9-9:15 and then take them home when we are done. We will be outside all morning, so dress in layers! If you have't paid yet, please bring money to the farm! If your student is a full day student you may bring them back to school at 11:15.

Sign-in/out: There will be a new sign-in/out sheet on the table outside my classroom! Please write down what time your student arrives, leaves and then initial next to it. 

Classroom Needs: If you would like to help out our classroom, we would love play-dough! We will use it a lot at the beginning of the year to help strengthen our hands as we work on fine-motor skills!

Grandparents Day: October 5 - the parent board is looking for treat donations and people to volunteer, sign up here! Please make sure to invite your grandparents and grand friends so they can join us! Rose Park Fall Family Festival: October 27 - You are invited to the Rose Park Fall Family Festival, link to sign up online is HERE. and the invitation your child may have already come home with is below: Moms in prayer - Preschool through fifth grade parents, you are invited to join Moms In Prayer! Every Monday morning at 8:35 in the conference room at the front office, please come as you are and join other parents who are passionate about praying over our children, staff and program! Come casual (workout clothes & messy buns welcome), leave fervent!

Our First Week!

 Hello Families!  We made it through our first week of school! We had SO much fun getting to know your students and teaching them some of our routines! In these next couple of weeks I am sure some of our friends will still feel some big emotions as they get used to the routine of coming to school. This is totally normal and we will keep giving lots of hugs and lots of encouragement!  Next week we will keep learning our school routines, and we will take our first field trip! On Wednesday we will get on a bus and head to the High School for our all School convocation. If possible, please drop your child off by 8:20 so we can get to the bus on time.  Things To Know:  Walk-a-thon T-shirt: There is a QR code outside of my room to sign up your student for a walk-a-thon t shirt.  Hello Families!  This week we had fun celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with Maestra Fernandez's class! Throughout the year we will take a few opportunities to learn from our Spanish Immersion friends about some Latino culture and traditions!  We also went to the library for the first time this week! We talked about how we will let the kids borrow a book this week, and then they can bring it back and get a new one! There is a blue bin on the little table outside of my classroom labeled "library books". You may put your library books in there at any time! There is a limit of 6 books out at one time. If you have 6 out at once I will print out a list of the books you have at your house and send it home with your student so you know which books you're looking for.  Next week we will see you at Post Family Farm on Monday!  Hello Families!  Time is flying! We had lots of fun this week doing some cool experiments like color mixing! We will continue to enjoy our last few days together as we have lots of fun at all our events coming up!  Monday (the 26th): OFF for Memorial Day !  Wednesday (the 28th): Normal Day of Class Thursday (the 29th): Preschool Park Playdate! We will be hopping on a bus at 9 and heading over to Windstrom Park! You are welcome to meet us there and hang out! We will head back to school around 10:15. I am still looking for someone to bring popsicles for our class! Let me know if you'd be willing to bring some for us, either in the morning at drop off or to the park!  Monday (the 2nd): Our Preschool Brunch!
