Week 22

Hello Families!

We had a really fun week at school! We are working hard on identifying numbers, and putting our letters in the right order! We also had a special chapel today! The Living Hope Singers from the High School came and sang for us, and many of your kids were surprised that Mrs. DeLange was invited to come and sing the last song with them since she was in Living Hope when she was in High School! 


Next week we will continue to work on our names, and we will start working on the proper way to form letters. We will also be starting to talk about love and how to love each other well! 

Things to Know: 

Valentines Party: We will be having our valentines party on February 14! We will be exchanging valentines! These do NOT have to be anything huge or elaborate! Even just little paper hearts for their friends are just fine! There are 18 kids in our class, and you do not have to label each one to a specific friend. If you want to leave to "To:" section blank or just put in friend, that would be great!

Spirit Week is coming February 12-15:

    1. Monday 12th : Pajama Day

    2. Wednesday 14th:  Heart/Red Day

    3. Thursday 15th: Maroon & White Day


Newspaper: If your family still gets a paper copy of the newspaper our Art students would love to help you recycle and use it for a project! Feel free to send with your child or drop off in the front office!

Share the Love: The Maroon and White Shop will be hosting the first annual "Share The Love" Shopping Event on Wednesday, February 7 from 8am - 5pm.  Come shop for the latest HC gear at the High School and 10% of all sales will go to Compassionate Heart in Zeeland.  The first 25 customers to make a purchase will receive a complimentary gift and our "Cool Beans" Coffee Cart will be serving complimentary coffee, tea, hot chocolate and refreshments!  It's an event you won't want to miss!

Our First Week!

 Hello Families!  We made it through our first week of school! We had SO much fun getting to know your students and teaching them some of our routines! In these next couple of weeks I am sure some of our friends will still feel some big emotions as they get used to the routine of coming to school. This is totally normal and we will keep giving lots of hugs and lots of encouragement!  Next week we will keep learning our school routines, and we will take our first field trip! On Wednesday we will get on a bus and head to the High School for our all School convocation.  Hello Families!  This week we had fun celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with Maestra Fernandez's class! Throughout the year we will take a few opportunities to learn from our Spanish Immersion friends about some Latino culture and traditions!  We also went to the library for the first time this week! We talked about how we will let the kids borrow a book this week, and then they can bring it back and get a new one! There is a blue bin on the little table outside of my classroom labeled "library books". You may put your library books in there at any time! There is a limit of 6 books out at one time. If you have 6 out at once I will print out a list of the books you have at your house and send it home with your student so you know which books you're looking for.  Next week we will see you at Post Family Farm on Monday!  Hello Families!  Time is flying! We had lots of fun this week doing some cool experiments like color mixing! We will continue to enjoy our last few days together as we have lots of fun at all our events coming up!  Monday (the 26th): OFF for Memorial Day !  Wednesday (the 28th): Normal Day of Class Thursday (the 29th): Preschool Park Playdate! We will be hopping on a bus at 9 and heading over to Windstrom Park! You are welcome to meet us there and hang out! We will head back to school around 10:15. I am still looking for someone to bring popsicles for our class! Let me know if you'd be willing to bring some for us, either in the morning at drop off or to the park!  Monday (the 2nd): Our Preschool Brunch!
