Week 4

 Hello Families!

We had a great week talking about creation and about how to be a good friend! Next week we will look at everything from circles, the the Fall to, more about how to be a good friend! 


Things to Know: 

- Please return your Post Family Farms permission slip and money by September 19. Your students are covered by school, the parents portion is $6 per adult. 

- Library: Next week we will start going to the Library here at school! Your student will be allowed to take home one book with them each week! All of our library books have bar codes on the front that say Rose Park Christian on it! So if you see a book in your students backpack that you don't recognize it's likely from our library. More information about returning books will come next week! 

- Walk-a-thon: The envelopes are due the 18th. September 26 will be the preschool walk-a-thon! We will have a fun morning together as a preschool walking, playing and eating popsicles! 


From Rose Park: 

- Save the date: Rose Park Fall Fest will be happening on Thursday, September 26th. 5:30-7pm, you can sign your family up HERE.

- Help Wanted: Rose Park is seeking a nurturing and caring part-time aide for our After School Care program. Our after school program runs from 3-5:30 Monday - Friday and we would love to have you join our team. 18+ years of age. Interested applicants should apply here for this position. If you have questions, feel free to reach out to Laura Rotman at lrotman@hollandchristian.org.

- Gently used items for the office: It is nice to have a few items in the office if students ever end up dirty on the ranch, or accidentally were not prepared for the elements. We could use:  Adult S & M shorts, Adult S & M sweatpants, Youth shoes sizes 11, 12, or 1, Adult S & M

- Grandparents Day Cookies! - If you would like to help out and provide some cookies for our amazing grandparents and grand friends. Please review the available slots and click on the button to sign up. Thank you!

- Grandparents Day Invitation! We’re ready to roll out the red carpet for some of our most treasured guests of the year! Grandparents/friends are invited to join us in our learning spaces and participate in worship with us. Please pass along the following invitation to your family’s special people:

 Hello Families!  This week we had fun celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with Maestra Fernandez's class! Throughout the year we will take a few opportunities to learn from our Spanish Immersion friends about some Latino culture and traditions!  We also went to the library for the first time this week! We talked about how we will let the kids borrow a book this week, and then they can bring it back and get a new one! There is a blue bin on the little table outside of my classroom labeled "library books". You may put your library books in there at any time! There is a limit of 6 books out at one time. If you have 6 out at once I will print out a list of the books you have at your house and send it home with your student so you know which books you're looking for.  Next week we will see you at Post Family Farm on Monday!  Hello Families!  Time is flying! We had lots of fun this week doing some cool experiments like color mixing! We will continue to enjoy our last few days together as we have lots of fun at all our events coming up!  Monday (the 26th): OFF for Memorial Day !  Wednesday (the 28th): Normal Day of Class Thursday (the 29th): Preschool Park Playdate! We will be hopping on a bus at 9 and heading over to Windstrom Park! You are welcome to meet us there and hang out! We will head back to school around 10:15. I am still looking for someone to bring popsicles for our class! Let me know if you'd be willing to bring some for us, either in the morning at drop off or to the park!  Monday (the 2nd): Our Preschool Brunch! Please bring any items you signed up for in the morning at drop off time so we can set up! You are more than welcome to come and join us in our celebration from 10:15-11:15.  Hello Families!  This week we talked about some spring-time things and made the best of our rainy day by reading Cloudy With A Chance of Meatball and talking about what foods we want it to rain!  Next week we will be talking about Tulip Time and some Dutch things like windmills and wooden shoes!  From Rose Park: Library Books:   This week was the last week for students to borrow books from the Rose Park Library.  All student library materials are due by May 9. I sent home a list of all the books that your student has checked out so you can look for them over the weekend! If you need me to reprint your list, let me know! Plant Sale: The annual fourth grade plant sale is coming to Rose Park on May 21 starting at 7:30am.  They will be selling tomatoes, peppers, and a variety of herbs.  All plants will be $3.00 per pot, cash or check only.  Mark your calendars!
