Week 5

 Hello Families! 

This week we had fun celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with Maestra Fernandez's class! Throughout the year we will take a few opportunities to learn from our Spanish Immersion friends about some Latino culture and traditions! 

We also went to the library for the first time this week! We talked about how we will let the kids borrow a book this week, and then they can bring it back and get a new one! There is a blue bin on the little table outside of my classroom labeled "library books". You may put your library books in there at any time! There is a limit of 6 books out at one time. If you have 6 out at once I will print out a list of the books you have at your house and send it home with your student so you know which books you're looking for. 

Next week we will see you at Post Family Farm on Monday! We will also have our preschool Walk-a-thon on Thursday! 


Things to Know:

Post Family Farms is on MONDAY. Remember, we are meeting at the farm, so don't come to school! If you haven't turned in your money yet, please bring it to the farm! We will be still going even if it's raining, so make sure you dress for the weather! If you have a student who stays for the afternoon, you may drop them off at school at 11:15. Let me know in the morning if you want your afternoon student to have hot lunch. 

Walk-a-thon: Our preschool walk-a-thon is Thursday at 10:30! Parents are welcome to come and join the fun! If you would like to come you may sign-in at the office and they will direct you to our outside area where we will walk and have popsicles!

Save the date: Rose Park Fall Fest will be happening on THIS UPCOMING THURSDAY September 26th. 5:30-7pm, you can sign your family up HERE.

Holland Christian’s All School Walkathon will be taking place on Wednesday, September 25 during the afternoon of school. Thank you for your support in this endeavor. For those new or unfamiliar with our Walkathon, please read through a few FAQs here!

 Hello Families!  Time is flying! We had lots of fun this week doing some cool experiments like color mixing! We will continue to enjoy our last few days together as we have lots of fun at all our events coming up!  Monday (the 26th): OFF for Memorial Day !  Wednesday (the 28th): Normal Day of Class Thursday (the 29th): Preschool Park Playdate! We will be hopping on a bus at 9 and heading over to Windstrom Park! You are welcome to meet us there and hang out! We will head back to school around 10:15. Week 35

 Hello Families!  This week we talked about some spring-time things and made the best of our rainy day by reading Cloudy With A Chance of Meatball and talking about what foods we want it to rain!  Next week we will be talking about Tulip Time and some Dutch things like windmills and wooden shoes!  From Rose Park: Library Books:   This week was the last week for students to borrow books from the Rose Park Library.  All student library materials are due by May 9. I sent home a list of all the books that your student has checked out so you can look for them over the weekend! If you need me to reprint your list, let me know! Plant Sale: The annual fourth grade plant sale is coming to Rose Park on May 21 starting at 7:30am.  They will be selling tomatoes, peppers, and a variety of herbs.  All plants will be $3.00 per pot, cash or check only.  Mark your calendars!
