Week 2

 Hello Families!

We had a very fun full week of school! The bus ride was very exciting and we had lots of fun playing together and getting to know each other better! Over the next couple of weeks we will 

Next week we only have class Wednesday and Thursday due to Labor day! Enjoy your long weekend! 


Things to Know: 

We sent home 4 papers with your students today! A picture order form for picture day (which you may bring back any time before picture day), a flyer for the kid stuff resale, an envelope for the walk-a-thon and a little flyer for a pastors breakfast. If you didn't get one of these, please let me know and I will make sure you get it! 

School Pictures: On Wednesday, September 10 we have school pictures! Our morning drop off will look slightly different. You will bring in your student and put their stuff in their locker like normal. Then you will head with your student down to the media center to get their picture taken. Then you will bring them back to our classroom for the rest of drop off. We have found their pictures turn out much better when mom/dad is with them to help them smile :) We will direct you more on the morning of!

  • September 25: Fall Fest 5:30-7pm

  • October 2: Grandparents Day (morning)


From Rose Park: 

  • Caring for the Rose Park Ranch: Do you love animals? Do your kids come home talking about loving their days in the barn at school? If you and your family would be interested in caring for our ranch on the weekends would you send an e-mail to Ms. Roskamp at kroskamp@hollandchristian.org. We are going to set up training this Fall to get more families involved in our weekend barn chores!

  • School pictures coming soon! School photos will happen on September 10

  • Rose Park Fall Fest is coming up on September 25 from 5:30-7pm. This is an incredibly fun community event, Please sign your family up here! 

  • Grandparents Day is coming up on October 2, we would love to bless our Grandparents with some treats, if you are able would you sign up to provide something HERE.

  • Custodian needed: If you know anyone who is looking for custodial work, we are looking for a teammate for our Custodian Braulio Cantú  from 1:00pm-7:30pm. Have them reach out to Vince at vbrower@hollandchristian.org.

Our First Week!

 Hello Families!  We made it through our first week of school! We had SO much fun getting to know your students and teaching them some of our routines! In these next couple of weeks I am sure some of our friends will still feel some big emotions as they get used to the routine of coming to school. This is totally normal and we will keep giving lots of hugs and lots of encouragement!  Next week we will keep learning our school routines, and we will take our first field trip! On Wednesday we will get on a bus and head to the High School for our all School convocation. If possible, please drop your child off by 8:20 so we can get to the bus on time.  Things To Know:  Walk-a-thon T-shirt: There is a QR code outside of my room to sign up your student for a walk-a-thon t shirt.  Hello Families!  This week we had fun celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with Maestra Fernandez's class! Throughout the year we will take a few opportunities to learn from our Spanish Immersion friends about some Latino culture and traditions!  We also went to the library for the first time this week! We talked about how we will let the kids borrow a book this week, and then they can bring it back and get a new one! There is a blue bin on the little table outside of my classroom labeled "library books". You may put your library books in there at any time! There is a limit of 6 books out at one time. If you have 6 out at once I will print out a list of the books you have at your house and send it home with your student so you know which books you're looking for.  Next week we will see you at Post Family Farm on Monday!  Hello Families!  Time is flying! We had lots of fun this week doing some cool experiments like color mixing! We will continue to enjoy our last few days together as we have lots of fun at all our events coming up!  Monday (the 26th): OFF for Memorial Day !  Wednesday (the 28th): Normal Day of Class Thursday (the 29th): Preschool Park Playdate! We will be hopping on a bus at 9 and heading over to Windstrom Park! You are welcome to meet us there and hang out! We will head back to school around 10:15. I am still looking for someone to bring popsicles for our class! Let me know if you'd be willing to bring some for us, either in the morning at drop off or to the park!  Monday (the 2nd): Our Preschool Brunch!
