Week 18

 Hello Families!

This week we worked on learning the number 4 and counting. We also learned about candy canes and how they make a J for Jesus, but also how they look like a Shepards staff. We talked about how the Shepards were the first people that learned about Jesus' birth! 

This week will be very focused on the story of Jesus' birth and celebrating Gods amazing love for us! 


This coming week: 

Monday: A normal day for us. Chapel will be the First Grade Christmas Program. You are more than welcome to join. It will be at 10:40 in the big gym. Please make sure you sign in at the office if you would like to come! 


Wednesday: Our Christmas Party! We will play some fun games and decorate our own trees! 


Thursday: PJ Day (and backup Christmas Party day if we have a snow day on Wednesday). We will do some fun activities and then eat popcorn and watch a Christmas movie together as a fun reward for all of the hard work they have done so far this year! They are welcome to wear PJ's, and bring in one stuffed animal or blanket that can fit in their locker! 

Rose Park will also have spirit week next week which you may choose to participate in if you want:

Our First Week!

 Hello Families!  We made it through our first week of school! We had SO much fun getting to know your students and teaching them some of our routines! In these next couple of weeks I am sure some of our friends will still feel some big emotions as they get used to the routine of coming to school. This is totally normal and we will keep giving lots of hugs and lots of encouragement!  Next week we will keep learning our school routines, and we will take our first field trip! On Wednesday we will get on a bus and head to the High School for our all School convocation. If possible, please drop your child off by 8:20 so we can get to the bus on time.  Things To Know:  Walk-a-thon T-shirt: There is a QR code outside of my room to sign up your student for a walk-a-thon t shirt.  Hello Families!  Time is flying! We had lots of fun this week doing some cool experiments like color mixing! We will continue to enjoy our last few days together as we have lots of fun at all our events coming up!  Monday (the 26th): OFF for Memorial Day !  Wednesday (the 28th): Normal Day of Class Thursday (the 29th): Preschool Park Playdate! We will be hopping on a bus at 9 and heading over to Windstrom Park! You are welcome to meet us there and hang out! We will head back to school around 10:15. I am still looking for someone to bring popsicles for our class! Let me know if you'd be willing to bring some for us, either in the morning at drop off or to the park!  Monday (the 2nd): Our Preschool Brunch!  Hello Families!  This week we talked about some spring-time things and made the best of our rainy day by reading Cloudy With A Chance of Meatball and talking about what foods we want it to rain!  Next week we will be talking about Tulip Time and some Dutch things like windmills and wooden shoes!  From Rose Park: Library Books:   This week was the last week for students to borrow books from the Rose Park Library.  All student library materials are due by May 9. I sent home a list of all the books that your student has checked out so you can look for them over the weekend! If you need me to reprint your list, let me know! Plant Sale: The annual fourth grade plant sale is coming to Rose Park on May 21 starting at 7:30am.  They will be selling tomatoes, peppers, and a variety of herbs.  All plants will be $3.00 per pot, cash or check only.  Mark your calendars!
